The history of coffee

While the world celebrates International Coffee Day on October 1st every year, coffee remains a milestone in the history of many people on Earth.
The history of coffee dates back to the 10th century and perhaps earlier according to a number of reports and legends regarding the first people to use it. It is believed that the original home of coffee was from Ethiopia. The oldest proven evidence of drinking coffee or knowing the coffee tree is from the fifteenth century in Sufi monasteries in Yemen. By the sixteenth century it had reached the rest of the Middle East, southern India, Persia, Turkey, the Horn of Africa, and North Africa. Then coffee spread to the Balkans, Italy and the rest of Europe, to Southeast Asia and then to the United States of America.

How is Saudi coffee made?

Saudi coffee is prepared from medium to high roasted coffee beans. It is boiled with water to the required degree between light golden and brown. No sugar is added to it. According to the special recipe, saffron, cinnamon, cardamom, or cloves may be added to it. It is served in a pot and a cup specially designed for enjoyment. With Saudi coffee, fill the bottom of the cup with a small amount, unless you want otherwise, and to break the bitterness, it is served with dates or sweet recipes.

The taste of Saudi coffee varies slightly depending on the region and the customs associated with its preparation.
